About Us
AgFirst Federal Credit Union was established in 1934 as charter number 00081, one of the earliest credit unions formed in South Carolina and chartered in the nation. AgFirst Federal Credit Union serves employees, retirees and family members of AgFirst Farm Credit Bank in Columbia and its affiliated associations in 15 states. AgFirst Federal Credit Union also serves the members of the South Carolina Independent School Association across South Carolina.

AgFirst Federal Credit Union was chartered under federal law. Federally chartered credit unions are regulated by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an independent agency of the U.S. Government. NCUA's three board members are nominated by the President of the United States and confirmed by the U. S. Senate. The NCUA administers the federal insurance fund, NCUSIF, which covers deposits in federal credit unions, and most state chartered credit unions.
